Ronald "Barney" Barnstable
age 75, of Carlinville passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He is the son of the late Laurence Barnstable and Winifred Fletcher. Barney married Rogene Trill on June 25, 1955 in Carlinville, IL. He was a veteran of the Korean War were he was a truck driver. Barney worked as a mechanic for Dick Shirley Chevrolet for 20 years then owned and operated Mid Town Auto Service in Carlinville, IL from 1976 until 1997. He was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Chesterfield, IL. Barney was a range officer in the Carlinville Rifle and Pistol Club. He was a life long member of the NRA and also belonged to the Macoupin County Agricultural Antique Association. Barney enjoyed making guns and working on antique steam engines. Survivors include his wife Rogene, daughter: Linda Master of Carlinville, IL; sons: Jerry Barnstable (Sheri) of Decatur, IL and Mark Barnstable of Carlinville, IL and daughter: Julie Clevenger (Brian) of Springfield, IL. Barney has 7 grandchildren, 1 step grandson and 1 step great granddaughter. Also surviving are Brother: Eugene Barnstable of Loveland, CO and Sister: Carol Barnstable of Waukesha, WI. Preceding him in death were his parents and Brother: Julius Barnstable. Funeral Information
Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. Funeral services will held Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Carlinville. Burial will follow at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Carlinville, IL. Officiating will be the Rev. John Bettman and Rev. Wayne Shipley. Donations Information
