Obituary of Mitchell E. Smith

Mitchell E. Smith age, 66 years old of Girard passed away at 4:52 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He is the son of the late John B. Smith and Ruby (Chapman) Smith Foster. Mitch married Mary Ann Pitchford on December 11, 1959 in Girard. Mitch managed several filling stations in Hayworth and Taylorville before moving to Girard to begin farming in 1973 to the present. He was a member of the Boston Chapel Christian Church in rural Girard. Surviving include his wife Mary Ann, children: Diana Brown (Brett), David Smith (Lori), Daniel Smith, Randy Smith (Colean) and Danielle Enrietta (Nick) all of Girard and Dawn Webb (Eric) of Raymond. Mitch has 14 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 1 step great grandson. Also surviving is brothers: Aubrey Eldon Smith (Pat) of Taylorville, Leland Smith (Annie May) of Divernon, Sister: Sharon Mendoza (Frank) of Girard and Sister-In-Law Dorothy Smith of Springfield, IL. Preceding him in death were his parents, and brothers: Haskell, Harold and Lewis Smith. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Funeral services will be on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Ernest will officiate. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
