Obituary of Everett LeRoy Steelman

Everett Le Roy "Bud" Steelman, 73, of Carlinville, passed away Thursday morning, December 31, 2015 at his residence in Carlinville, IL. Everett was born on October 17, 1942 to Everett A. and Janice (Redden) Steelman in Cottage Hills, IL. He was a 1961 graduate of Roxana High School. Everett married Wanda Lee Best on February 14, 1993 in Carlinville and she survives. Bud worked as a boilermaker for Combustion Engineering in St. Louis. He later worked in maintenance and as an electrician at Heidman Steel Company in Missouri. Bud enjoyed motorcycles, restoring cars, woodworking, building homes, shooting guns and teaching children to hunt. He could repair anything. Bud is survived by his wife, Wanda L. Steelman of Carlinville, IL; daughter, Dana (Larry) Stone of Wood River, IL; son, Perry (Lisa) Steelman of St. Louis, MO; son, Daman (Trisha) Steelman of Worden, IL; daughter, Rachel (Kurt) Cory of Millstadt, IL; step son, Dan Whitley of Carlinville, IL; step son, Matt (Tish) Whitley of Carlinville, IL; step daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Robinson of Carlinville, IL; grandchildren, Dale Hanneken, Ashley Hanneken, Kaylee Stone, Blake Stone, Brianna Walker, Megan Steelman, Dalton Steelman, Morgan Steelman, Mikayah Steelman, Aliza Cory, Aleigha Cory, Perrilynn Cory, Morgan Whitley, Connor Whitley, Michael Clayton, A.J. Caudle, Colton Whitley, Tyler McEuen, Todd McEuen, Molly McEuen, Kayla Whitley, Jessy Robinson and Jeffrey Robinson; great grandchildren, Lucille Hanneken, Aaron Braden, Harrison Mills, Dawson Hanneken and Skylar Cadle, as well as a sister, Carolyn Brown of Rosewood Heights, IL. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Valerie Clayton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from Noon to 2:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Blaine officiating. Burial will take place in White Hall Cemetery.
