Condolences
Dean was one of my most favorite high school teachers. He made biology fun to learn and gave so generously of his after-school time for the photography club which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also recall he once took students on a field trip to Lake Carlinville woods. God's peace to him. God's consolation to you, Maureen, and all the family.
Mrs. Dixon and family,
Sorry to learn of your loss. Dean was a wonderful teacher.
I was fortunate to have both of you as teachers.
Dan O'Brien
I have such wonderful memories of Dean, Gene, Kirby, and all our “Flanagan” cousins. My favorite memory was when we tied all our bicycles together to pull the blue pedal car and took off down the road to the “bottoms” with Dean guiding the pedal car, with baby Jan riding in it. Gene was riding one of their horses, while the rest of us were on our bicycles. We moved from Illinois when I was ten and we visited only a couple of times after that. I look forward to seeing Dean in the “New System,” when we will welcome back Dean, Oneta, Joe, and the rest of our loved ones, who are asleep in death. “Jehovah the Sovereign Lord provides escape from death.” Psalm 68:20
One of my cousins. Always loved the fact that I had twin cousins. And then my sister had twins and my daughter had twins. Didn't know they ran in the family. The family will be in my prayers. So sorry for your loss.
To the Dixon family I'd just like to say I'm so sorry to hear about Dean. I really enjoyed having him for a Sunday School teacher as a child growing up in the church. He was a good friend as well. I know he will be greatly missed.
We are sorry for your loss. We are praying for strength, peace and comfort, knowing that the Lord has His loving arms wrapped tightly around your family.
We extend our sincere sympathies to Dean’s family. We have fond memories of the many times we were able to get together with Dean & Maureen and friends so many years ago. We’ll always remember Dean’s great sense of humor and that wonderful smile of his.
Maureen, JD & Shelly, Shannon & Ryan, & Carly, Zac & Nataley,
We are so sorry for your loss. Dean was such a bright light in this world & we loved the time we shared with him. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
So sorry for your loss. Keeping your family in my prayers.
My sympathy and prayers to the family. Mr. Dixon was a fine teacher, a great role model, an inspiring man. He certainly left an indelible mark on us, his students. I join many, many others in thanking him for his good life. Now, may he rest in peace, Amen!
Heartfelt sympathy. caring thoughts, prayers. Mr. Dixon was an outstanding educator throughout my high school years. He guided us through Biology classes with patience, understanding, and professionalism. Wishing the family: a song in your hearts; a rainbow after the rain; sunshine after the clouds. Peace. Cherished memories. Mary von Liski
Dean was the reason we started to invest in the early years of our marriage. We were both from families with few assets and were such novices about investing. He was always so professional and gave us such good advice. Our sympathy to the Dixon Family.
My deepest sympathy in your time of loss. Mr Dixon was my favorite teacher at CHS. He'll be missed by many.
so sorry for your loss, I had him for biology many years ago, he was a very nice guy
Our sincerest condolences. Dean was such a genuinely nice man. Huge hugs.

So very sorry for your loss. Dean was one of our favorites, as a teacher, and person in general.
To Maureen and all of Dean's family I want to extend my sympathy. I hope you can take comfort in knowing what a great influence he was to so many of his students during his teaching years. Dean was one of the very best teachers in the history of Carlinville High School. After leaving the teaching profession he continued his excellent service to the community in general and especially the clients of Dixon Insurance Services. Overall, he leaves a great legacy of service and a record of integrity that will be remembered for many, many years.
What an amazing man! I had 2 favorite teachers and he was one of them. Always thoughtful, patient, funny and one of those teachers who could teach to each student’s level. I never saw him frustrated. At church he was the same wonderful person. A wonderful Christian man. My Biology class was his last one. I used to laugh and say after having me he couldn’t take it anymore. Even once he was at Heritage I could still get him to smile with that story. He laughed out loud one day when I told the staff that kids took his class just to get high on formaldehyde! He was one of a kind and I am blessed to have known him. My prayers to Maureen and their family.
