Obituary of Marilyn Joann Patrick

Marilyn Patrick 67, of Girard, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born Saturday, July 4, 1942 in Springfield, IL, the Daughter of Adolph and Helen (Ballard) Hamende. Marilyn married Marshall Francis "Pat" Patrick in Little Flower Catholic Church in Springfield, IL on June 3, 1967. Marilyn was a PE Teachers Aid for the Girard Elementary Unit #3 School for 25 years. She organized and started the girls softball league in Girard and held several coaching positions in various sports. Marilyn was the President of the Girard Little League for 19 years and umpired for over 50 years being IHSA certified for 25 years. She was active in many aspects of Girard's activities. For her hard work and dedication she was bestowed "Girard Citizen of the Year" in 1996. She was of Catholic faith. Survivors: Son, Timothy Eugene Patrick (Lori) of Dawson, IL, Daughter, Misty Patrick of Girard, IL, Daughter, Angela Woolsey (Paul) of Nilwood, IL, Son, Kevin Patrick of Girard, IL, Grandchildren, Hailey, Timmy, Christopher, Stephanie and Patrick, Brother, Jerry Hamende (Joyce) of Springfield, IL, Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1990 and brothers, William, Marvin, Robert and Joseph Hamende. Funeral Information Visitation will be held at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL. from 2:00 to 6:00 Sunday, May 9, 2010. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM., Monday, May 10, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Girard with Rev. Howard Shockey officiating. Burial will be in Girard Cemetery. Serving the family as Pallbearers: Mike; Lenny; Paul and Greg Hamende; Chris Woolsey and Dillon Adams. Honorary Pallbearers: Kevin Patrick; Mark Hamende; Chester Jones and George Hart.
